Privacy Policy
The short version: we run Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic, and that’s about it. We don’t sell data, we don’t run ad networks, and we don’t try to identify you personally. The long version is below in case you, your lawyer, or your browser’s cookie banner needs it.
Who we are
stickypicoon (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a software studio based in Silicon Valley, California. You can reach us any time at hello@stickypicoon.com.
What we collect when you visit this site
Not much. This is a static marketing site. We don’t embed advertising trackers and we don’t try to identify you personally. The data footprint comes down to a few things:
- Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand basic, aggregate traffic patterns: pages visited, approximate country, browser, that sort of thing. GA sets its own cookies and processes data under Google’s terms. You can opt out with any standard tracker-blocker or Google’s own opt-out tools.
- Theme preference. When you toggle the site between light and dark mode, we save your choice in your own browser’s localStorage so it sticks next time. That value stays on your device. It never reaches us.
- Standard server logs. Our host (Google Cloud Run) keeps short-lived request logs that include the requested URL, your IP address, your user agent, and timing. We use these only to keep the site healthy and to mitigate abuse. They roll off according to Google Cloud’s default retention.
What we collect when you email us
If you write to hello@stickypicoon.com, we’ll have your email address and whatever you put in the message. We use it only to reply. We don’t add you to a list, we don’t market to you, we don’t pass it along.
Third parties
A couple of services help us run the site:
- Google Cloud (Cloud Run). Serves these pages. Subject to Google’s privacy notice.
- Google Analytics (GA4). Aggregate traffic measurement only. Subject to Google’s privacy policy.
- Google Fonts. The typefaces are loaded from fonts.googleapis.com. Google receives a request from your browser for the font files. We don’t share anything with them.
That’s it. No advertising networks. No social pixels. No A/B testing tools.
Cookies
We don’t set first-party cookies ourselves. Google
Analytics sets its own cookies to do its measurement work
(typically _ga and friends). We also use one entry
in your browser’s localStorage to remember your theme
choice. That one stays on your device.
Your rights
Because we don’t accumulate data on you, there isn’t much to access or delete. But if you’ve emailed us and want us to forget you, write back and say so. We’ll delete the thread.
If you live somewhere with stronger data rules (the EU, the UK, California, and similar places), you have the right to know what we hold about you, to correct it, to ask us to delete it, and to complain to your local data protection authority. We’ll honor all of those. Email is the fastest path.
Children
This site isn’t aimed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect anything from them. If you think we have, write to us and we’ll fix it.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change how this site handles information, we’ll update this page and bump the "last updated" date at the top. If the change is significant, we’ll do our best to call it out clearly.
